S Kumar: Kumar Consultants is founded by S Kumar, a visionary transportation thinker and an outstanding engineer with more than 28 years of experience in railway industry in India and UK. A graduate in Electrical Engineering and post graduate in Power Systems from IIT( Indian Institute of Technology) his experience includes working for diverse organisations within railway industry e.g. government undertaking, public sector company, design consultants, railway construction companies and regulatory bodies governing railway industry. These were in diverse roles e.g. advisor to overnment for railway projects, civil servant, overall railway administrator/railway area officer, infrastructure maintenance manager and operator, maintenace and operation manager for Rolling Stocks and its operation. In Railway Engineering Projects his experience includes client’s representative for taking over of project, Project and Programme Manager, general consultants, design experts, engineering management consultant, project initiatore and sponsor and facilitator for funding arrangements. This has led him to acquire a very insightful and yet very balanced view of the railway industry. As vice president he heads our Railway Engineering business and leads Energy Systems related activity for Railway which includes the energy efficiency and greed energy related activities and related innovations.
